Dr Warrier’s research investigates the social and genetic factors that shape neurodevelopment and mental health, with a particular focus on understanding why individuals with neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions can have very different outcomes. His group integrates large-scale genetic, neuroimaging, electronic health record and questionnaire data to study variation in brain structure, behaviour and mental health across childhood, adolescence and early adulthood. A major focus of his work is understanding the genetic and developmental heterogeneity of autism and related conditions, with the aim of improving understanding and developing more targeted support.
